CHECKMATE is a canister capable of self-burying in any sand/silt-based seabed.

CHECKMATE could be delivered to its chosen location either overtly or covertly depending on payload application. Delivery would usually be by surface vessel into a fixed position in the sea-bed, supplying on demand data to the host.

Following launch, CHECKMATE will bury itself to the depth required for its role and to provide a stable and low cost platform for its assigned mission.
